In Re: Joint Public Notice No. 05-70, August 26, 2005, Application No.
2005-01814
Since my letter of September 15, 2005 it has come to my attention that
several people living in the area of the proposed project have
routinely reported seeing American Bald Eagles in and about that area.
We in the S.E.A Rogersville S.I.G. have made an effort to confirm these
reported sightings. In the short time available to us within the
comment period, we were able to locate two residents who would attest
via affidavit to such sightings. Attached are the signed and notarized
affidavits of Ken and Linda brown so attesting.
It is my understanding that the American Bald Eagle is prominent on the
threatened species list for Alabama.
Accordingly, I would like to request a public hearing on the
application and that a full environmental impact study be performed on
the proposed action, the proposed site, and all areas immediately
adjacent to the site.
